What we can help with and our role alongside medical care
Our Role
We do not provide a physician's diagnosis or medical tests such as imaging or blood tests. We assess posture, movement, muscle tension and other aspects of your condition to plan our care.
We also review diagnoses and tests from medical institutions to understand your current condition. If medical assessment or treatment appears necessary, we prioritize a medical consultation over acupuncture, moxibustion or manual therapy.
What you can discuss with us
You are welcome to consult us if discomfort remains after a hospital found no abnormalities. After reviewing your diagnosis and treatment, we consider care for physical concerns within our scope, while respecting the medical treatment and visits you need.
You may also consult us if you are receiving psychiatric or psychosomatic medical care. Diagnosing and treating mental illness is the role of medical institutions. On the basis that you continue necessary treatment and visits, we consider care for physical concerns within our scope.
When we may not provide care
We may decline to provide or recommend continuing care if medical attention should come first, or if your wishes differ substantially from our approach.
If mental or physical difficulties are severe and significantly affect daily life, prioritize a medical consultation. In an urgent situation, use emergency services or an official advice service without waiting to contact our clinic.
Checks and Precautions Before Care
Please tell us before your session
Please tell us about previous diagnoses and tests, current medical treatment and visits, medications, and pregnancy. We may ask about these as needed to understand your condition and consider appropriate care.
Possible Reactions to Acupuncture and Moxibustion
Acupuncture may cause temporary pain, bleeding, bruising or fatigue. Cosmetic acupuncture may likewise cause bruising around the face.
During the session, we adjust the intensity and method while checking skin and muscle responses and how you feel. We use single-use needles.
