BACKGROUND

Why I chose this work

I previously worked as a systems engineer. When my grandfather was hospitalized, I saw him working on rehabilitation and met the people supporting him. I realized how little I could do to help him physically. That experience led me to pursue work caring for the body.

After leaving my company, I worked at an acupuncture and judo therapy clinic and also gained experience in elder care. I obtained Japan's national qualifications as a judo therapist, acupuncturist and moxibustion practitioner. Working in both settings continues to shape how I assess the body today.

In February 2018, I opened Gen Shinkyu Seikotsuin with one treatment bed in Fukakusa, Fushimi, Kyoto. In 2020, I moved to our current location in Fukakusa Ijikicho.

What matters to me when caring for patients

I place great importance on listening first. I want the clinic to be a place where you can speak comfortably even when you feel nervous or anxious, and receive care with an understanding of the approach.

CLINICAL APPROACH

The thinking behind my care today

Rather than choosing care based on a symptom name alone, I consider what factors may be involved from the body's condition. I form a working view, provide care and check the response, revising my understanding and methods as needed.

PROFILE

My interests and the clinic space

I did much of the interior work myself, including the floors and plaster walls. Because I enjoy DIY, I have gradually created a space that feels calm and comfortable to me.
